Hey, quick question from someone VERY new to digital art with respects to comics, what is your preferred software and do you have any working knowledge of Magna Studio 5...I am looking for a good program and some of these can get quite expensive, so I'd rather not guess at something, I would be using it with a Wacom Cintiq...any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard good things about Manga studio, but I've never tried it.  I have photo shop, though I don't use it for drawing- I love paper and pencil.

I agree with you on the pencil and paper, i haven't quite got the feel of drawing on my tablet yet. I went with Manga Studio EX5, and it seems really good so far. I've just been using it for inks so far, but I plan on trying it out for colours in the near future. I used it to ink a Deadpool drawing that you did, if you get a chance check it out in my gallery, I'd like to hear your opinion on it. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

Photoshop is the preferred program for most digital artists. I use Manga Studio EX4 for digital inking and Photoshop for digital coloring. I hope that helps. I know that I'm not the person you asked about this, but I saw you left this message on someone else's page as well and thought you might still be looking for a response. :) Hope it helps.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, input from experienced artists, thanks. I've started using Manga Studio EX5 and really like it, so far only for inks, but apparently they have improved the colouring part of the program as well (according to them) but I have yet to try it out for myself. Checked out your gallery, fantastic work, perhaps when I start doing a bit more colouring I could pick your brain for a few tips. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
